Sarah recently had the pleasure of meeting a longstanding Conservative and journalist John Szemerey, who has recently joined the Liberal Democrats. John was elected a Tory councillor in Sarah's home borough of Islington in 1968 and was later that party's candidate for the parliamentary seat of Islington South and Finsbury.
Sarah commented: "It is apt that John has joined the LibDems when we are poised to see the election of Bridget Fox as the next MP for Islington South and Finsbury. Since 1968 only one lone Conservative has briefly served as an Islington councillor and sensible Tories have either permanently switched to the LibDems or lend us their vote to ensure Labour is defeated."
