Dee Doocey, the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Olympic Spokesperson, commenting on today's decision by the Paralympic Committee General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur to lift its eight year ban on the inclusion of people with learning disabilities in the Paralympics said:
"This is wonderful news and means people with learning disabilities can now look forward to their full inclusion in the 2012 Paralympics in London.
"It is highly regretful that the decision was ever made to introduce this ban which was simply an over reaction following the Sydney Games."
